As learned by Herbridge.com, according to the latest research findings from Finland¡¯s Raisio Benecol Ltd., high dose daily intake of plant sterols cholesterol can lower the cholesterol more efficiently and no side effect has been found so far.
Plant sterol is the effective component in Benecol produced by Raisio Benecol Ltd. The Company examined the effect of daily intake of 9g of plant sterols in two tests while the regulated dosage is 2g per day.
It is learned that the two research projects were carried out by Maastricht University in Holland and University of Kuopio in Finland respectively.
Both the two tests have shown that high dose intake of plant sterols can effectively lower the level of low-density cholesterol, and when compared with the control group (the group with no intake of plant sterols), the lowering rate is as high as 17% and no side effect has been found so far.
The test results have renounced the previous belief that there is no additional effect to take high dose of plant sterols.
